The base

You can either give all your nails the same colour or either give them all a different colour. Pastel colours (available in the Royal Picnic collection) are the best appropriate for this nail art.

Cherry on the cake

No cake without cherry. Gems from the Sweet Gems Carrousel remind us of those jummy cherries. Place one or three gems on your nails in the same colour as your nail polish.

Sprinkles

Fashion Pearls XXS look like sprinkles. Place them around the gems. They come in 12 colours, so you’ll have enough colours to match the gems.

Meryl Streep

Meryl Streep made a big impression with her portrayal of Margaret Thatcher in “The Iron Lady”, and she won the Oscar for Best Actress. On the red carpet she looked like a queen in a golden Lanvin gown. Michelle Williams

Being a nominee for Best Actress made Michelle Williams really want to stand out on the red carpet and she did in her orange dress which made us long for spring. She kept her nails nude and so can you with our Nail Polish n°265 from the collection A Star is Born.

Bérénice Bejo

“The Artist” was the big winner last night, taking home 5 Awards. At the red carpet it was their actress Bérénice Bejo who left everybody flabbergasted, wearing a seafoam green floor length gown. To match her dress ProNails has a light bleu in our Royal Picnic collection, namely Nail Polish n°279.

Nude
Nude nail polish never goes out of style and Fergie knows that. We won’t say another thing about the see through orange lace dress but at least her nails looked fierce with stiletto’s in a pale pink shade.

Classic with a twist

A French manicure is a classic. Katy Perry kept the base clear and painted the tips blue, assorted with her blue gown and blue hair. She finished her twisted French off with a single rhinestone on each finger.

Bicolour

Gold was well represented at the Grammy’s and Kelly Rowland gave it her own interpretation (trend alert!): four fingers were painted gold and her ring finger was coated black.

Goldfinger

Rihanna dipped her nails in gold and added a dollar sign on her pinky. Rumor has it , this manicure costs $5,000 a bottle!

Louboutin manicure

Adele did not only take 6 Grammy’s home, we also give her the award for the best manicure. Matching her heels she choose a Louboutin manicure: a glittery silver nail polish combined with a shiny red colour on the inside of her nails. A real eyecatcher!

2011 is coming to its end and what a great year this was! We gave you lots of colour with six new collections and introduced many other new products. We participated in lots of fairs and other events and we showed our sporty side by sponsoring the curling girls and the New York Marathon. Here ‘s a short overview of 2011!

New products and collections

In spring/summer bright pastel colours were the most important tones in our collections Elle and Some Like it Hot. For autumn/winter we had three wonderful red shades in the collection Sacred. The collections La Chasse and Le Diner were based on the hunting season and contained lots of nature-inspired colours. As if that wasn’t enough to excite the nail polish lovers, we also made a crackle collection with four crackling colours.

To make life easier for nail stylists and their busy customers we introduced SoPolish, the manicure that only takes 30 minutes to apply and that lasts for 14 days. We also created the first perfumed UV gel, called Gelixir. A Manicure Massage Candle and the nutritional supplement Nailbooster completed the range of new products.

Fairs and events

In March we launched our innovation of Sopolish and my god what a success that was . The demand was big and in May the salons could provide their customers with this “miracle manicure” as some journalist called it . We participated in a great number of fairs, like the ones in Brussel , Bologna and Paris. We held Open Doors and participated in the vintage event Labellov. But our most important collaboration this year was the one with A.F. Vandevorst. Professionails made an exclusive Villa II nail polish collection to be sold at their summer guerilla store action IV in Knokke, Belgium. We also were part of their fashion show in Paris in October where we did all their model’s nails.

Sponsoring

Miss Belgium Justine de Jonckheere’s nails always looked polished this year thanks to our nail stylists. Next to Miss Belgium 2011, Miss Professionails 2011 was chosen via the website of Miss Belgium. Alizee Lagase was the lucky one to win a year full of Professionails nail care.

In May a great new museum opened its doors in Antwerp: MAS (Museum aan de Stroom). The outside of the museum is covered with thousands of hands and Professionails is one of the proud sponsors of this project.

Not only colour and fashion are a great passion for us , also a sportive mind is a joy forever.

We sponsored the National Curling Team that participated at EC Curling in Denmark , It is the first curling team Belgium ever had so we are very proud , we have high expectations for them to do well at the next Olympic Wintergames 2014.

We also got involved in the “simple” sport of running . I don’t mean running from your home to the backery. No I’m talking about a complete marathon . We sponsored a team that ran the New York Marathon. Can you imagine, running through the Big Apple , Broadway on your left , leaving Times Square behind heading towards central park ! We did it and all 20 participants finished the marathon. The team guided by a great coach who also trained a royal Belgian princess !

Counting the last days of 2011 , we can look back to what a great year this was . Now we are looking forward to a new year about to turn . A brand new year filled with many exciting oppertunities.
